In addition to this presentation, you need to
write a “To Do” list for the forthcoming year.
What skills and processes do you want to try?
What would you like to improve upon? What
interests you as a graphic designer that you
want to learn? This is an opportunity to take
control of your future and put strategies in
place that will help you to establish and achieve
your goals – whatever they are.
- Im very interested in creating work that has a tactile presence and therefore would like to continue using media such as screen printing but also experiment with embossing and using machines such as the Laser cutter and a plotting machine.
- Web design is something I have been keen to try, having designed a website previously and being unable to html/code do to lack of knowledge, I feel this would benefit me, and enable to work further towards my career choices and promoting myself through web.
- Something I really enjoyed doing last year was my project for context of practice, in which I wrote and designed my own children's book. If I was given the chance to do the same sort of thing this year, I would take the opportunity to see if it would be as successful as the last. Being a project that I really liked I feel as this could be a contender for a career path that I would enjoy going down.
- The thing that I think I struggle most with on the course is confidence, not with things such as public speaking etc, but confidence in myself and the work that I produce being so new to the subject of graphic design, due to this issue, i've taken a step back from trying to gain a summer placement this year, like a few of my peers have completed. Therefore I would like to learn how to express myself to important people within the industry, how to approach them, get them interested, to learn how interviews work etc.
